High Voltage has coaches for each of our age group levels, and assistants to help coach at the squad level.

Robin Woodie U-19 Head Coach. Woodie brings with her a high-powered resume as a hockey coach. A New Jersey native, Woodie began playing there in her early school years and played all through high school, capping it off with an all-state award. After playing all 4 years at West Virginia Wesleyan College and graduating with a degree in PE/Health, Woodie immediately jumped into coaching field hockey in her home state of New Jersey. Upon moving to Virginia, Woodie took over the reigns at Woodbridge High School’s field hockey program, taking that team to AAA State Quaterfinals in 1996. Success followed Woodie when she moved onto Stafford High School in 1998. Her commitment to highest standards of play and work ethics helped build a highly successful program there, and in 2005 Woodie’s team brought home the AAA State Championship title. That year Woodie achieved universal acknowledgement for her successful leadership with the District, Regional, State and National Coach of the Year awards!

Woodie moved on to the University of Mary Washington as Assistant Field Hockey coach, a position she held from 2005-2007, and has recently returned to the high school arena as Assistant Varsity Coach at Stafford High School. In 1999, Coach Woodie also founded High Voltage Field Hockey as a premier Festival team, and was the driving force in bringing the team to Fredericksburg and helping to create a year-round elite travel field hockey club.

Jamie Tierney U-16 Head Coach. A standout player for James Monroe High School in Frederickburg Virginia in the 1990s, Tierney went on to play for DI Radford University. A walk-on there, Tierney was a 4-year starter and Captain her senior year. She graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine in 2001 and soon returned to the area to take on the JV coaching position with her alma matter, James Monroe High School.

In 2005, Tierney took the reins as head coach of the Varsity team, and quickly built the team's reputation as a AA contender. In her first year as head coach, the team made it to the Semi-finals of the State Playoffs, and in 2006 were State Runners-Up Champions. In 2007, the team won its Battlefield District Championship and she was elected Coach of the Year. Most recently, in 2008, Coach Tierney brought her team through from under-dog status in the Battlefield Distict to State Champion Runners-Up.

Tierney has built the Field Hockey program at the Fredericksburg Field House from its earliest offerings in youth programs and adult recreational league into a thriving year-round program for players of all levels. In addition to her coaching for High Voltage and James Monroe, Tierney continues to play on the adult Club team circuit.

Woodie made the All-State Team for 3 years during her high school career. Woodie now teaches English and is the Head Coach of the varsity field hockey team at Stafford High School.
